Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I very rarely, if ever, vote on my team mates. I suppose that's a good way to figure out who is likely allied with me when I'm scum. 😅
  2. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I figured we'd all moved over to the other one, though in hindsight I should've just transferred ownership.

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Nah, it's fine. I wasn't actually frustrated or wanting to give up my position as a moderator. I just knew that my usual tactics wouldn't work since nobody was buying it so I decided to go a step further with the dramatics in the hope that it'd help my team win or at least distract away from them somewhat.

In hindsight, it wasn't the smartest plan after all so I'm sorry if there's any bad blood over it. Scum were incredibly unlucky and in an unusual position where at one point Insaner guessed exactly who was on the team. With so many players steadily cleared as 'almost certainly town' I just didn't know what else to do.

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I've left the discords related to the games, feel free to remove me from a moderator position. It's nothing personal, as such, but like I said - I can't do this anymore and should have taken a break/quit sooner rather than let this frustration bottle up over time. If the mood ever strikes me to return in due time, I'll approach you guys.

Thank you, genuinely for both the good times and the weird times.

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Yeah, whatever - last post. There's absolutely no reason why Badger shouldn't have been yeeted for getting Grumpy killed and I've only been signing up for a while now to help keep our numbers up but I can't do this anymore. Too many people get a free pass due to silly reasons and there's no real adherence to the gentleman's agreement of keeping things fun for the team that already faces an uphill struggle in the first place.

So mod kill me, I guess. Night can claim outright to be purple and a survivor (which if true, would result in a mod kill) and you'll just go along with it. So whatever, I saw Badger kill Mazer and I couldn't target Night due to having a hide or commute mechanic.
  6. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Yeah, whatever. This'll be my last game for a while, if not permanently. I'm tired of people either not showing up to play at all or sabotaging the game for whichever faction is unlucky enough to not get their backing - in this case, town. Like I said, it's just a repeat of the previous game.
  7. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Did matthieu seriously just ask why survivor roles exist? And walk back on what color he thinks badger is? When badger was pivotal in turning the tide in yeeting claws? XD
I'm not 'walking back' anything, I can't claim but I have good reason to believe that Badger is not to be trusted. You'll see if you yeet me today, as I said both yesterday and today.

I'm sure you're only doing this because you and Jarrod are doing what Blind Ninja and Void Kitten did during the previous game, though.

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Sony Computer Entertainment continued aggressively pushing their ad campaign with a release of demo discs for future games. There was a rumor that the discs replaced a deal that was originally intended for another company.
It sure does sound like a cult to me...
  9. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm also not sure why purple would exist as a faction if they're to be trusted.
  10. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

If he's not purple then he's red, either take me out today or yeet Badger.
  11. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Absolutely. This is scum Matthieu to a T. I have zero doubts.
Then yeet me, if not today then during the next day phase. I don't think you genuinely believe that I'm scum, though - and if I survive the night I don't doubt that you'll come up with another excuse to 'look elsewhere' because neither you or Badger want me to flip and tip the remaining town off to the fact that Badger isn't to be trusted and you are very likely a partner of his.

I'll concede that town is likely screwed if purple is indeed a cult prioritising recruitment as Grumpy (?) speculated.
  12. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

hope to god I'm dead before the next day phase
I didn't take you for a coward eager to hide from your responsibilities.
  13. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm not scum and I've already outlined my reasons for speaking up.
  14. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Right. I may as well not submit night actions then.
    My thoughts exactly.
  15. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm not 'ignoring' Mazer's information, either. Blind Ninja could very well be scum as well as you, though if I have cause to believe a particular player is not worthy of trust why would I keep quiet and not speak up?
  16. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

The Matthieu plan backfired so looks like a plan B.

He has completely ignored Mazer BN info.
My plan hasn't backfired. I already stated that I am going to continue pushing you next day phase if we're both still around.
  17. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I won’t tell you what to do but can only advise to be wary of clearing Drey.
You're poisoning the well. I'm pretty sure that Dreyski is worthy of trust.
  18. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I also don't think there is much reason to think purple isn's a benign third party. They haven't killed anybody and I think that the lightning rod effect on N2 excludes them from being something like an arsonist. Cult also seems unlikely as there is no evidence of them multiplying. However, on the chance that it is a cult then I would like to say that I would gladly join their team if they chose to recruit me and I promise to be a great asset to their team and contribute a lot to their glorious victory!
What makes you think that they haven't killed anyone? We've already seen a day kill - separate to a night kill - and there's nothing suggesting to me that we're not dealing with a setup with potential annoyances. Not to mention the possibility that actions have been blocked, delayed or both.
  19. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm a little paranoid of scum having yeet immunity on someone to go along with anyone asking for a thunderdome between themselves and another person
How convenient. Though if Badger and I survive the night - which is likely after losing the JOAT - then I am going to continue pushing Badger during the upcoming day phase. You can yeet me then if you don't want to do it this day phase.

Maybe save the paranoia for the guy who pushed on a confirmed town player and then pulled the age old 'lol oops sorry' card. There's enough players completely checked out of the game who have either sheeped a vote or not put one down at all for it to sadly be effective.
  20. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

We literally just had a game where town lost because they decided to trust scum masquerading as claimed masons and nobody had the stones to actually push either of them to test that theory (not helped by my own admittedly poor choice of wording as an oracle asking questions about the setup in that game).

I am not making that mistake again. You can yeet me or Badger, but he absolutely isn't to be trusted. If you believe he's to be trusted, then yeet me to get access to my will and flip. I do not want this day phase to end in someone else being yeeted, flipping town only for more contrived excuses to be pulled out to ignore how the situation with Grumpy went down.
  21. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Frankly, I'm just not buying Graeham's claim at all.
Then don't. We've already been through this:
You can doubt it all you like, in which case just yeet me and you can deal with Badger during the next day phase using my flip and will as proof.
That's what the system is there for.
  22. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm sure you'll read whatever is necessary in order to try and make it through another day phase...
  23. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

    Purple isn't hostile.
I think Mazer might disagree with that...
Like I said, though, feel free to yeet me today so town can see my flip and will. Then the next day phase can be spent taking down Badger.
  24. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Yep. I'm extremely confident when it comes to my stance on Badger.

I'm hoping others comment directly on all this instead of just showing up to vote and nothing else.
  25. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

You can doubt it all you like, in which case just yeet me and you can deal with Badger during the next day phase using my flip and will as proof. Once Badger is dealt with, I strongly suggest looking at Nightingale next who will no doubt prove to be particularly evasive.

As for my vote on Grumpy, I based my vote on Badger's apparent earnest plea which I even quoted alongside my vote...there was very little time left during the day phase and pursuing a lead that was supposedly based on solid intel seemed the better course of action to give us something solid to work with.
  26. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Just gonna point this out... Willing to give badger benefit of the doubt on his fuck up... But wasnt willing to give me one
Will you join me on Badger? I know we don't always see eye to eye but he's not to be trusted.
  27. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm extremely confident that Badger is lying. Either people believe me or they don't - my will and flip will provide the proof anyone needs if it comes down to it which isn't the ideal route to take but remains a potential option on the table.
  28. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I can see it as a possibility that Badger's purple. I don't think he is red given that he was the counter wagon to Blind Ninja, who is very likely a red and was saved yesterday.

Why do you think purple is a priority over red? I haven't seen them killing anyone so far...
I think we've been very lucky in regards to how night actions have played out and with Grumpy's role serving to delay night actions, the next night phase is potentially going to be brutal - hence the desperation for Badger to be excused for another day phase in order to take full advantage of that fact.

CWE didn't die during a night phase but at the end of a day phase.
  29. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Matthew - to be clear, do you suspect Badger of being red or purple? Or just anti-town?
Badger's purple. I'm willing to soak a yeet today if that is what it takes to finally get people to see sense. I'm starting to suspect that Nightingale is purple as well. This is probably going to be another game where ballsy scum pretend to be town and cruise to victory which I hope isn't the case but the more switched on players such as CWE, Void and Mazer are ending up dead to night kills and Grumpy was the victim of a pretty obvious and desperate last minute gamble at a misyeet.

At the very least you'd expect more hesitation, right? But there isn't much - just the usual 'haha just badger things' as if scum aren't going to pull any stunt necessary and lie in order to win.

    :rolleyes1:

You're probably one of the next to be taken out at night or misyeeted because you're vocal with the seeds of suspicion being cast your way.
  30. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I'm just going to assume that red and purple have teamed up unofficially and are committed to taking out town by any means necessary.
  31. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I agree. I don't think Badger is scum. I think it was just a mistake
Was Mazer a mistake as well?
  32. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

    I repeat. Badger. Is. Town.
You're mistaken. Intentionally or otherwise. You can opt to take him out this day phase or the next but I am confident that he is the best choice for today's yeet.
  33. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I am positive Badger is town. We are not yeeting Badger.
He isn't and given your role, I highly doubt you have information to work with. I, however, do and will happily accept a yeet today if it means Badger is gone in the night or the next day phase.
  34. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

My concern is that there's a red and purple faction, something Mazer drew attention to only to wind up dead and now despite getting a town aligned player yeeted - right at the end of the day phase, no less - I'm being asked to give Badger a second chance.

I can't claim though I'm confident that Badger is the way to go today. Confident enough to eat a yeet or a vigil kill if I'm wrong.
  35. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

We can look at Future next day phase, Badger needs to go as he outright lied about Grumpy.
  36. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Well I might as well say this now but probably going to die but have no choice.

The purple I was very sure is GrumpyCat.

    Unvote: Badger
    Vote: Grumpy
  37. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

You were gone for most of the last phase, was there a reason you didn't chime in?
I had a terrible migraine and ended up forgetting about the game entirely.

As for my vote on Badger, I was testing two things - to see if my vote isn't being screwed with (since people are claiming that there's missing votes) and to see what the reaction is.
  38. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

The CWE death shows before Night actions.
Poison, bleeding or some other form of delayed kill?
  39. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Dreyski is very likely to be clean, then. I doubt both players put up for a yeet are scum.
  40. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I don't have a strong opinion on Dreyski one way or another, whereas Claws always comes across as scummy to me in pretty much every game that he participates in.

    @Dreyski

    @Claws

What are your thoughts on each other and who would you be voting for if we weren't limited to the two of you during this day phase?
  41. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

I expect a story before Day 1 ends, btw.
    Here's one:

A close friend of mine from my childhood recently reconnected with me, we fell out of touch over the years since I moved away from my hometown in my late teenage years. We sort of kept up with each other's lives through social media but it wasn't the same as when we met up multiple times a week to hang out.

As part of our re-connection efforts she wants to take me to Comic Con. I've never been to one though she's been to many and likes to cosplay. She plans to go as Princess Zelda and after some back and forth with me being confused as to who best to cosplay as she suggested that I go as Aiden Caldwell from Dying Light 2 because 'that's who I look like', apparently. :-p

So I've got until late next year to get a cosplay costume ready...

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Sleep in a game that can't spreadsheeted is a pro-scum move btw
Not necessarily, especially some of us don't even spreadsheet in the first place.

First on the list? I assume you're referring to the list of people voting on Void?
    Correct!
  45. M

Mafia 9: Sega vs Nintendo - The Race for the Next Generation

Well future certainly isn't I don't think, since future didn't play the last game. Is there a reason you picked him to vote here?
No solid reasoning, though he's first on the list and Void is already voting for him. I'd rather vote to sleep but that doesn't seem to be happening this time, surprisingly.
