Why? Because they targeted MTR on N4? I wouldn’t say that clears him. It wouldn’t be the first time scum targeted a teammate in an effort to muddy the waters.

Conversation seems to have died down and with today being a holiday for America, I don’t see it picking up much. It’s rare for our entire household to have the same day off so I plan on enjoying my time with them. There is yummy foods to be eaten and prep to be done for the new puppy coming on Saturday. In all honesty, I don’t know what I could add to the conversation beyond what has already been said anyway and I don’t want to miss voting.

I know I’m town, so if taking Foxxi’s advice to not tinfoil LDG, Val, or Drey then today’s vote comes down to Windward or MTR. I understand Val’s stated concerns about purple, but I agree with forge assessment that so far, purple hasn’t acted in a way that appears harmful to town and can be dealt with if getting rid of red isn’t enough to end the game. At this point, MTR’s thoughts seem to be in alignment with my own. Could it be a trick? Sure, it’s mafia, but that can always be explored more next day. I wanted to give Windward the chance to speak since they were a late join, but nothing has really been said that is compelling enough to ignore Matthieu’s behavior leading up to the personnel change.

Matthieu’s “Badger is purple” push definitely seemed to come out of left field. While I never did go back to read all of the posts I missed while sick (I just don’t have the time or attention span right now), I did read the ones from the most recent phase & read the write ups several times. I don’t see anything in the write ups that paints purple as a current threat. For all intents and purposes, they appear to be townsiding. I assumed, much like you did, that it was scum trying to deflect while still solving. And it’s not the first time we’ve seen a scum Matthieu take a hard stance and sell it by offering to be the next yeet. However, I don’t think he’s ever actually quit mid-game (that I know of) in that circumstance so that was surprising (to me anyway).

True. I can’t argue against that being a possibility.

If Matt/Wind is scum, then a Badger kill seems like an odd choice given the push Matt was making on Badger. Lends some credence to Wind’s take that he was just confused about the results.

I don’t want to miss getting a vote in before EOD. Psycho has been hella understanding about me being out sick, but I don’t want to push it. .

With the info we have at this point, I feel like BN is the vote. There is time to explore MTR further next phase and while Matthieu’s posts leading up to his quitting was all kinds of Sus, I’d like to afford Windward at least a full phase to see what they have to say.

I mean, it’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility for him to be scum. Especially with Future flipping scum. It is a little surprising that a scum team containing Future & Claws didn’t take MTR out with a night kill . The only known action on MTR is his claimed stolen vote. I’m struggling to focus through reading past posts so I’m not fully caught up, but it also seems like they didn’t interact as much this game as in others. Not that any of the above is damning evidence for MTR. It could be coincidental. The interactions they did have didn’t seem forced.

For what it’s worth, in what catch up I was able to do before I got distracted by a shiny squirrel (AKA my kids) I didn’t see any indication that he was that level of upset so his decision to quit seemed a little out of left field to me.

I had a lightning rod related question next because I'm not familiar with how that action works. Would all positive and negative actions be pulled to the lightning rod then get canceled out?

Jarrod used a lightning rod effect, so everyone got pulled onto jarrod that night. Badger's ability did some kind of mirror effect; everything that hit jarrod also hit badger.... so anyone who had successful targetting actions N2 will have hit both jarrod and badger.

Mazer also has BN in his N2 will because he has been delayed N1 by grumpy - so the action Mazer tried to do N1 ended up happening N2 but I'm assuming since it was delayed it wasn't forced into the lightning rod.

I decided to start by re-reading the Day/Night recaps to refresh myself to confirm who died when and to make target notes from the wills. I'm still struggling with the write-up format (chalking that up to not having been around for the discussions). Then I started with the posts at the beginning of this page which told me that I clearly need to start further back than I did. I want to go read D3 posts, I think, to see if I can get a better understanding of N2 fallout. The wills showing multiple people with multiple targets has me intrigued. Some motivator action on steroids?

Given CWE's past experiences with Neighbors it makes sense that he would hang back and observe a little longer rather than search for someone N1.

Advice from anyone on how far back I should start as a minimum? Judging by post counts I have a ton to catch up on.

I’m still working but I know I need to vote. I skimmed the last two pages and I don’t really see anything new argument-wise that sways me to one over the other or changes where I was at during my previous post. I hate this & I hate being forced to pick between two people I don't have a strong read on this early in the game. I also hate that one of the two people on the chopping block can't effectively defend themselves. Maybe Claws is scum, maybe he isn't. I don't really feel we have enough information to do more than guess. I'm assuming that if anyone had any details as a result of their roles that they would have shared by now.

I haven’t been able to get caught up entirely but I wanted to at least make an appearance. I have to work for a few hours today so it is truly just a drop in appearance to weigh in at least a little.
I have not been able to go back and read all of what I’ve missed. what I have read I skimmed.

Regarding D1 reactions, I tend to struggle with those. I wasn’t particularly struck by either Claws or Dreyski’s post. Both seemed NAI to me. Drey’s posts were analytical and mechanic focused. Claws was taking the piss out of VK. Seemed like a typical D1 to me on both counts. I didn’t think anything odd about Claws’ delayed vote on VK because of his "I am the hammer" post.

I did look up the gladiator role because I'm not familiar with it. From what I gathered, the role typically would be able to choose any player to faceoff against. Since he was killed before getting to do that, it makes sense to me that as a passive he was able to choose any two players to faceoff. So my gut tells me that he picked two from his sus list & that’s how we got here.

I am bothered by Foxxi's insistence that everyone sheep her vote because she feels stronger about her read than she feels others are about theirs. In my experience, she's a proponent of wanting people to come to their own conclusions & think for themselves. So to see her appear to be discouraging that & instead taking the stance that everyone should vote the way she wants them to because she wants it more just feels offputting to me.

I’m also not crazy about Future’s shitpost drop in then claiming he was ready to be serious and then disappearing.

I’m not going to cast a vote yet because I hope to be back before day ends.

I’m not going to be done with work before day ends so getting a vote in. Checked the vote count on discord and looks like Sleep is the way we’re going today.

It was mostly NES in our house. I think my brother got an SNES after I left home for college. We used to have some heated family Tetris competitions. And I'll never forget the time my dad stayed up all night playing Legend of Zelda to beat it because he & my brother were both on the final level. He used the VCR to record himself beating the game to show my brother the next morning. Savage.

I did get to play Atari when I visited an aunt & uncle of mine. Frogger was my favorite.

I'm really saddened by the general lack of support for my spreadsheeting dreams. Y'all couldn't let me hold onto my hope for even halfway through D1? I know they're unrealistic, but sometimes a girl just like to hope and dream and pretend for just a little while.
