It is strange, though if I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt then I'd expect you to do the same for me. I wouldn't avoid taking out an obvious threat to my team if I were scum - and that's something that bothers me about Crackle's attempts to paint me as scum based on my vote record. It wouldn't make sense for me to deliberately avoid yeeting scum if I were just going to let them get slaughtered at night.

Maybe it's just as simple as scum consisting of players that aren't really paying attention to what's happening/are too afraid to make any ballsy moves?

I think he's town, though I don't expect him to actively try and solve given how quiet he's been in general since his return to the game. I wouldn't resist pushing on him today since looking back at Morrison's three posts there really isn't much to go on there and that's the slot he took over.

I don't have any reason to doubt that Psycho is who he says he is. So, yes, when Psycho has successfully played a major part in taking three different scum scalps as trophies then I find it very strange that you're apparently so eager to get rid of him.

If Psycho is possessed of protection - such as a BPV - then that makes it even more likely that scum would prefer to get rid of Psycho during the day rather than the night.

It'd actually be preferable, since I don't want to be stuck figuring out who is lying and who is telling the truth at a point that risks me throwing the game completely if I get it wrong.

As I stated during the previous day phase, I didn't have much to go on or any deep thoughts beyond mechanical clears and being eager to weaponise Psycho against scum. If you can't take that at face value then I honestly don't know what to say - it's not like I can claim and you know full well that I don't really scrutinise vote counts to the extent some other players prefer to do.

So if you want to take me out, just do it this day phase so I'm not artificially kept around to be misyeeted later.

The former based on questioning Psycho to such a degree to the point of it seeming like a slip born of frustration for his team being cut through like butter...and the latter because of the clash with Kareemah.

Probably not the best or deepest reasoning in either case but it's where I'm standing right now.

It may or may not be the reason why he was targeted, though even getting too close to one scum member could have been enough to cause a knee-jerk reaction. Claws, especially, is prone to those.

Rock has butted heads with me in both games that we've played together. I wouldn't suggest reading too much into him putting me in his list - our play styles just don't mesh, I guess. A lot of attention was also put on me due to winning the prize back on D1.

I didn't change my vote to avoid ending the day early and it was very much going to come down to either Cape or Psycho being voted off on that particular day phase, with me arguing in favour of keeping Psycho around if I recall correctly.

I'm just going to go with my gut on this one. I've been going back and forth trying to figure out who to push today but I keep coming back to Kareemah. There's just something about the 'hey what's going on guys' that seems very forced to me.

Psycho doesn't have a team. He's third party and he did kill scum during the night.

I'm willing to put my trust in Psycho since he kept his word. Taking him out this day phase would only serve to waste time that could be better spent looking elsewhere.

It's likely that a third party role with the ability to kill has some form of protection, yes. As it happens, the flavour text suggests that Psycho only requires two more kills in order to secure victory. Presumably at that point he then departs the game in a manner similar to Blind Ninja.

He's been caught out, though I don't think he's going to throw the game in a way that isn't to his favour. So I'd say to be on the safe side we try to yeet him today to remove his protection and then if he doesn't hit scum in the night, we take him out properly tomorrow. If he does hit scum tonight, we allow him to endure and achieve his win condition.

I don't know how much Psycho can say but...my concern is if we don't strip him of his protection he'll just target someone at random then go 'lol' and be unyeetable during the following day phase and take someone else out at night. That's exactly what I'd do.

Agreed with this. There could be day kills or day restrictions in play, so if you have something to say...just say it. Even if there's no danger afoot then at least it extends the amount of time people have to digest and weigh in on it.

Given the size of the game and the very likely chance of not being able to find whoever the player in question is, I doubt that the game will end once Exodia attains another two kills. I suspect it's similar to the Blind Ninja situation and it's just a third party role in play that has its own unique win condition.

That's admittedly just a theory on my part, to be clear. Though one I'm fairly confident in based on what we've seen so far.

She's a consistently good player, yes - though has an unfortunate habit of being killed off early/hit with restrictions precisely because of that.

Val is a frequent misyeet in these games and when he isn't a misyeet he has a habit of being killed early across multiple games. Which happened both during the previous game and during this game. I explained my reasoning quite clearly and there's little benefit for scum to wish for a town aligned player to be brought back to life since if such a wish is granted, it makes securing victory for a scum team all the more difficult.

You're tunneling and it's rather annoying. Especially when there's multiple players who are very quiet and haven't contributed anything of note.

Which, in turn, contributes to the inactivity problem. Someone dares to speak up in the game? Oh, no! Quick let's find petty reasons with no basis in reality to go after them and make the game even quieter!

I still don't understand what I've said or done that is 'scummy'. Elaborate.

Since Val's role and alignment was revealed, I doubt there will be any more resurrection mechanics in play. At least MTR has returned to the game and it's best that any form of jester gets taken out early rather than at a more critical juncture so this actually all works out rather cleanly for the most part.

It's a good thing I don't take notes in these games since I'd have to adjust them quite a bit with these twists and revelations.

My concern is we often reach a point where even with an inactivity kill in play, there's often enough players inactive to render such obsolete...or that particular role ends up being taken out at night.

If we're unsure where to go, taking out someone who isn't contributing is a solid plan.

Morrison was the first name on BN's list of inactive players, if I recall correctly. So I'll start there.

I feel a lot of better about both of them, actually. Rock's likely not scum since I think scum would be more cautious when it comes to making wishes as to avoid wasting them so they can try and benefit their team. Getting frustrated at me or just joking around and wasting the wishes isn't a terrible reaction.

As for Wind, she does seem to be trying to look at things and going through post by post is something that makes me think she's town - it'd be far easier to just ask in scum chat for a summary of what she's missed if she were scum.

Only one wish can be granted for the day phase and one was already chosen.

As an aside, I do wonder if the wish mechanic will be in play from this point on or if it's just a thing specific to this day phase. If it's a valid wish to bring players back from the dead then that might mean that we won't get any information from flips.

I read it as purely being flavour text. Ultimately Val was killed by yellow so I find it unlikely that Val, himself, is a yellow aligned player.

The chance of there being shenanigans at play is never something that can be fully cast aside, of course, though having reread the thread even back on D1 some people seemed strangely eager to try and yeet Val towards the end of D1. Even when there were multiple outright no shows.

I think? Unless it's someone else. Either way, I've already outlined how I suspect both N1 deaths to be town players so...

Not particularly, no. He's playing much as I would expect him to as town and the simple fact that he cast a vote for me after working out how the secondary D1 mechanic worked served to draw attention to him - something I really don't see him doing as scum.

All of this - at least on Rock's part - just seems like deflection, though. I do think Future is likely to be town, though. Maybe the fact that I explicitly pointed out that if Future flips town, we could go after Windward and Rock is precisely what triggered this.

He already explained his reasoning for picking the number, because he killed me during the previous game...and since he was willing to do that, it's safe to say that he wasn't the one to kill Val since he'd also pay attention to who else perished early during the previous game.

As for Windward, 'lol sry was drunk' has historically been a valid way to disguise accidentally messing up. Not saying it's definite, just something I've been pondering as a possibility.

I don't think he's red and we can safely rule him out as being yellow. I also dislike it when the same player is targeted two games in a row, since that makes it even less likely for someone to be inclined to contribute.

I'm confident reading Val, less so at reading MTR. I think it's likely that both were targeted by scum and we seemingly have two malicious sources of kills - namely red and yellow - so I don't really see what the big deal is.

How so? I'm curious to see where it leads. Windward and Rock are both very 'brash', I suppose. I thought it was very interesting that they happened to align with the same target. It's a good way to either condemn them both if Future flips town or alleviate concerns about potential scum slips/backtracking if he flips scum.

I think he's very likely to be town. As GC stated, he's been targeted N1 two games in a row. A vigilante/JOAT going after him would be strange, especially with players who didn't show up at all.
