Mafia 32- Traitors

Not sure how this will work but here we go:

Special Traitors Rules:
  1. Each day (36hrs) the players will vote one player for banishment.
  2. The player with the most votes is banished.
  3. In the event of a tie a random method will be used to banish one of the remaining tied players.
  4. Each night the traitors will meet in the tourret to murder one player. The traitors must murder each night unless…
  5. If the traitors find themselves down to one player they can recruit a member of the faithful to join them.
  6. Throughout the game there will be opportunities to earn a shield. A shield protects you from murder the following night. You may only earn a shield once. When a player earns a shield this is not always public knowledge.
  7. When 4 players remain they will cast a private vote if they wish to banish again or end the game. The game can only end when all remaining players vote to end the game or when there are two remaining players.
  8. If only faithful players remain at the end the remaining faithful win. If one or more traitors is left at the end the living traitors win. You must be alive at the end to win in this game!

The traitors have been selected. If you did not receive a direct message on FOS you are a faithful. The game will begin when the/all traitor(s) have checked in to the discord.

11 players, the person with the most votes will be banished.

A shield is in play. For those who feel the need to compete for a shield today that will save you from night time murder. This shield does not keep you safe from being voted and banished. To win a shield simply pick the winner of San Antonio Spurs vs Atlanta Hawks basketball game by posting the winner and bolding it in the thread. A random shield winner will be chosen from those who pick the correct winner. You can only win a shield once per game. Those who pick the correct basketball team but do not win the shield are eligible for future shields. Not everyone is required to go for a shield.

You guys know that even if I get it right if others get it right they may get the shield over me. I also only half ass follow the NBA enough to play fantasy basketball

I mean at this point you are the only one choosing them so if they win you get it 100%.
 
So, I expect we started with 2 traitors and 8/9 faithful (depending if there is a neutral or not since we love our neutrals)

Now, depending on how the traitor recruit works, we are basically fucked unless there is a cooldown Mitch hasn't specified in the game rules/posts.

I doubt there is a neutral just based on what he is basing the game on.

I have not watched previous seasons of the show but from what I have read if he is going by the show traitors give up their kill for the night if they recruit.

Correct, but if you are going to add a recruit chance, why start with 3? That means that town had to yeet properly from the start to even have a shot. And even then would need to roleblock/kill during the night a recruit is happening to stop it?

2 just sticks out to me.

There needs to be a roleblock or a cooldown on the recruit for there to be no town power roles and town to win.

I don't really take issue with Matthieu's opening post, but I'll admit his defensiveness about it gives me vibes of some of the last times he was scum

I didn't take it as a joke initially. When I read it and then re-read it, I was annoyed as it felt like he was pre-explaining.

It's less irksome now that I see the sarcasm potential, but the post after was ick as well.
 
Claws, how do you feel about Matthieu, MTR, and Handium so far?

I've got absolutely no read on Handi ATM. Also realizing this is my first time playing with them
 
I would banish both Claws and Matthieu today.

Psycho is fun. I wanna see more. I am curious if we are meshing on the same wavelength on certain aspects.

Handium seems normal thus far based on the one game they played.

MTR I need to see more.
 
If a guess had to be put in before the game for it to be valid, 2 people chose each team.

If it can be put in anytime before the game is over, then its fair game as Q1 started.

If it has to be put in before the end of the day, well then everyone should win :D
 
All I know of this theme so far is Bob The Drag Queen was playing terrible and was also robbed at the same time.

That doesn't disprove what I am getting at.

Yes, I'm not difficult to yeet or exploit as a distraction. Making me the perfect target for someone looking to get away with whittling down the numbers.

I could say the same about Claws who was your target prior to me.

Don't mistake me posting as caring. Do what you will. I only signed up to push the number of sign ups a little. You know full well that I zoned out during the last game and I'll probably do so again if I can't actually play without getting heat for dumb reasons.

That my interest in these games is wavering in no small part because I'm never allowed to just show up and crack a joke without it being dragged out and pushed as something deeper than it actually was.

He's easy to rile up. As am I and the likes of LDG. So in theory, scum looking to be seen as active can just lazily do the exact same song and dance every single game even if it doesn't actually lead anywhere, results in a misyeet or it just ends up fizzling out into a sleep vote instead.

Then if the player(s) in question survive the first night, D2 is then dominated by the exact same discussions.

Ultimately, this comes down to stop making posts I hate and I wont want to throw you off a cliff. If you continue with objectionable posts to me, i will continue to want to yeet you off the aforementioned cliff.

maybe cause i prefer people to explain why for why they dont like a post or why they find something scummy or towny or flimsy but the 'stop making posts I hate' is pretty vauge and doesn't say why you dont like posts but also that could be cause people dont wanna give too much to the mafia so they dont make 'likeable posts'

Hi, I'm VK. I play based on my feelings about a post at any particular place in time.

I am neutral on this post. I hated it, but I also like it.
 
I am also not reading that thread. It does me no good to see how you act in previous games. I really want to know how many people have read someones game and then all of a sudden decided they were town or scum :p

I think it's useful for people that use meta a lot, cause yall only have a single game with me and some dont at all
I think its nice to provide examples of games so people can make their own ideas about your stuff rather than just saying "I do ___" besides Idk my own meta
 
I don't follow sports.

A quick google search says that it is half time and the Spurs are winning, so I will say that the Atlanta Hawks will probably win. I don't actually believe that but that's what I am submitting.
