Mafia 32- Traitors

Psycho hasn't been playing a lot lately and I honestly don't always follow him when he does. Seriously?

I mean at that rate we might as well just not compete for shields

Like what's even the point if we're going to choose shielded people as the lynch?
 
thats kinda the point tho most likely traitors will try their damnest to get sheilds theres more of a chance hitting traitors with shield then not is my guess

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the setup, but I don't believe we have roles other than Traitor and Faithful? So Traitors probably can't even be protected from kills?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the setup, but in that sense, the only reason Traitors would want a shield is to prevent townies from getting it. Which, again, if we're going to say "let's kill people who might have a shield because it limits the kill pool for scum" then there's no point in Faithful competing for shields because it's just asking to get hung.

Which basically defeats the purpose of an entire mechanic of the game.

they will want them to 1 look towny and 2 to let them kill who they like instead of a reduced pool of losers that possibly suck at getting shield

This is assuming that town wouldn't ALSO be trying to get a shield

Which is where the logic breaks. Because literally everyone is going to be motivated to have a shield in some way

So again, voting for someone having a shield is possibly the dumbest shit I've ever heard

No one is saying that. Of course traitors are going to try to get shields to take them from town. Just silly to only yeet people that have shields. You are going to hit town more than traitor and when that is already going to be the case why make it even more so. Because then traitors won't go for shields and town will also stop going for shields and just gets away from the mechanic and spirit of the game honestly.

You have to extrapolate this even more. EVERYONE is a survivor. So sure, we want our side to win, but only because that is how we win.

So obviously everyone wants a shield.

Both of them are floating in that nebulous "would scum act like this?" persona and I'm willing to bet one of them is probably town being a lightning rod town.

I guess my gut just feels it with Grumpy a bit more

Not the actual role. As in a player acting like a lightning rod by playing in a way that draws attention and suspicion. Either intentional or not, if you or Grumpy are town playing the way you are, you've acted as a lightning rod
 
All caught up on the current season of Traitors now. I want to play a game of mafia with Boston Rob so bad
 
Night 1: Grumpy Cat has been murdered. He was a faithful. Only 9 players remain. The faithful better circle the wagons. Today's shield challenge is simple. Heads or tails? Bold your pick. Coin will be tossed after 8pm central. Shield awarded randomly to someone who picks it correctly.

Day 2 starts now. Ends Saturday Night at 9pm central.

If I read correctly, traitors can’t recruit and kill, so there’s still probably only 2 left, if we agree 2 is the number
 
Looks like can only recruit if there is one left. There has to be 2 at least. We seem to be mixed on our thoughts if there is 3rd one or not.

I was prepared to come in today saying that it's notable Grumpy didn't get a lot of heat compared to Claws, but Grumpy dying makes me think we should maybe look at someone who was never in danger. Definitely feels like a kill that would come from a comfortable traitor team

I am also amused by Matthieu's post from the perspective that he expects me to look like an idiot. Not scum manipulating things like he said originally.

But an idiot meaning he assumes I'm town. hmmmmm
 
Also a good chance that the Grumpy kill meant they were hoping to frame someone who was pushing there, but off the top of my head I don't remember who was pushing there other than me, so not immediately helpful info for me

I think it's likely scum would split their votes, at any rate. Maybe one was on the Claws train and the other on Grumpy, or perhaps a throwaway vote that wasn't going anywhere?
